Google “reflections maths”, “rotations maths” and “translations maths” if you are not sure what any term means. I’m sure your teacher or other people in the class could help you as well.

In pairs or groups of three, research some other inventions that were created by the Ancient Romans, Greeks, Egyptians, Chinese and Indians. ‘Ancient’ means 60000BCE – 650CE. When you are using Google, search for key words rather than questions, such as, “Ancient Rome inventions” or “Ancient China discoveries”. Record what the invention was, which civilisation/s invented or discovered it and how we use it today. Find at least one invention / discovery from each civilisation.
The Sunflower Group worked with Miss Emma in the garden on Wednesday. We added pea straw to some of our garden beds, watered the plants and worked on the compost bin.

Identify the roles and responsibilities of each level of government: Parliament of Australia (federal), Parliament of South Australia (state), City of Port Adelaide Enfield for most of you (local):
We have started working on your big question for your personal learning topic. Brainstorm a few questions before Thursday and record them on your blog under the title, ‘Personal Learning’. In the Comments section of this post, provide us with a link to your blog post. You can have a look at other people’s questions.
To help you with your question, think about what it is that you want to change. This might help you to decide what action you need to take.
Use the below to select a verb for your ACTION WHAT.
Both images are based on work from www.notosh.com
I look forward to seeing 28 comments on this post by Wednesday night 🙂
Today’s recipe was Fettuccine with Basil Pesto. We made some dough and ran it through the pasta maker in order to make our own pasta. We used the basil from our garden to make the basil pesto. I’ll add a recipe section to our blog, so that you can make these meals at home for your families!
Yesterday, Niko and Jason, along with Tarik, Lazar and Jake (1007), attended a RoboCup Junior Rescue Workshop. We learned a lot about programming. Below is a video of their final program – the robot is programmed to follow the line using two colour sensors, stop at the silver strip, move into the centre of the spill zone (green area), turn until it located the can using an ultrasonic sensor, push the can out of the spill zone and stop once it reached the edge of the zone.
I will be taking five students from the Blue Building to the next RoboCup Junior workshop today, so Mr Uzelac will be with you. Keep up the great work you have been doing with relief teachers!
8:45am: Unpack and catch up with everyone from the weekend
9am: Team Meeting
9:30am: Creative Writing
Use the below prompt to write a creative piece of writing. Aim to write at least 100 words.
Before you begin writing, I want you to consider the following things:
What is the purpose of your text? To entertain, to describe, to inform, to instruct….
Who is your audience? Young children, teenagers, adults, boys, girls… your text will be different depending on who you are writing for.
What form of writing will you use? Short story, interview, journal, poetry, fable, newspaper article, letter, etc. You are not restricted to any of these.
Brainstorm your ideas. Spend about 5-10 minutes on this.
After you have completed the pre-writing tasks, you can start your first draft. Focus on doing the things that we have talked about: punctuation (capital letter at the beginning of a sentence, full stop / question mark / exclamation mark at the end of a sentence, quotation marks for dialogue); simple, compound and complex sentences; descriptive writing, word choice.
Whilst on a walk, you discover a mouse-sized elephant with butterfly ears flitting among some flowers. You could write a story about your encounter with this creature, you could write a poem about it, you could write a (fictional) information text about this new species… and so on.
We’ll be editing tomorrow, so you must have it completed by the end of this lesson or it becomes Monday’s homework.
